Each type follows local building codes and engineering specs for depth, width, reinforcement, and concrete strength. We coordinate with inspectors to make sure everything passes before the next phase of construction starts.
Why footings matter more than you think
Footings are the widened base at the bottom of your foundation walls. They spread the building's weight across a larger area of soil so the structure doesn't sink or shift. In the Lake Norman area, footings typically need to extend below the frost line (about 12 inches in this part of North Carolina) and sit on undisturbed or properly compacted soil. Getting this wrong leads to cracked walls, sticking doors, and uneven floors. repairs that cost tens of thousands.
Our process
We start with the site survey and engineering specs (provided by your builder or engineer). We excavate to the required depth, set rebar according to the plan, call for inspection, then pour. Foundation work is weather-sensitive. we won't pour in conditions that compromise the concrete's integrity. We communicate timelines clearly so your builder can schedule the next trades around our work.
